The two teams met for the first time on December 4, 1960, and, fitting to the rivalry, ended in a 31–31 tie. However, the Cowboys own both the largest margin of victory in the series, a 52–7 win in 1966, and the current win streak, with seven consecutive wins from 2021 through 2024. The two teams were also featured in the first-ever Monday Night Football game on October 11, 1971, where the Cowboys beat the Giants 20–13 in the last-ever NFL game in the Cotton Bowl. Between 2010 and 2022, the Cowboys are 18–8 against the Giants.
