Throughout the 2010s, the Angels held the overall head-to-head edge 29–21. However, the Dodgers have gone 11–3 through the 2020s, including four straight through 2022. The largest margin of victory is 13 runs, by both teams. The Angels blanked the Dodgers 13–0 in 2004, and the Dodgers won via blowout 16–3 in 2006. As of 2021, the two teams have never met in the playoffs, and have only made the postseason in the same year four times: 2004, 2008, 2009, and 2014.

The park originally opened in 1962, and as of 2022 it is the third-oldest park in Major League Baseball, behind Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. Dodgers Stadium is also the oldest park West of the Mississippi River.

Meanwhile, the Angels play at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, located in Anaheim, California, less than five miles from Disneyland. The stadium has the unofficial nickname of The Big A, and opened in 1966. Between 1980 and 1994, it also served as the home of the Los Angeles Rams.
