In Florida’s third season, the two teams met in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Panthers won the series 4-1 and ultimately advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals, only to fall to the Colorado Avalanche.

After several dormant seasons, the Boston-Florida rivalry roared back to life in the ’20s as both teams vaulted to the top of the Atlantic Division.
