What to Wear to a Soccer Game

Soccer season is upon us with the hotly anticipated Copa America Centenario tournament kicking off on June 3 at Levi’s Stadium in the Bay Area and running through June 26 in stadiums across the country. In July, things really heat up for soccer junkies when the International Champions Cup North America and the AT&T MLS All-Star Game: MLS All-Stars v. Arsenal get going. No matter which team(s) you’re rooting for, the number one rule of dressing for a soccer game is comfort. Luckily, you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort. Here, a few of our favorite celebrities to show us how to nail the sporty look while also showing off team pride. Game on!

Face Paint

Vamos España!! #todosconlaroja #brasil2014 Go Spain!!

Face painting is a great and super easy way to show your favorite team some love. Feel free to go as crazy with the face painting as you’d like, but if you want a more subtle look just swipe a strip of your team’s colors on your cheeks like Elsa Pataky and you’ll be ready to go.

Jersey

Of course, the number one thing to wear to a soccer game is a soccer jersey like Joe Jonas does here—the bolder the colors, the better.

Personalized Jersey

If you really want to slay soccer game style, do like Queen Bey and have your jersey personalized. This will make you really standout from the sea of soccer enthusiasts.

Team Colors

#TBT World Cup 2014 @JLO @claudialeitte #Brasil

A post shared by Pitbull (@pitbull) on

Don’t have a jersey? No problem. Just wear your favorite piece of clothing in your team’s color like Jennifer Lopez did at the World Cup in Brazil back in 2014. Side note: we also love how Pitbull paired his Brasil shirt with crisp white pants.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are another essential at any soccer game. Not only will they protect your eyes, they instantly add a cool factor to your outfit like model Lily Aldridge does here representing the USA team.

Hat

Go on! #USMNT

A post shared by Jessica Biel (@jessicabiel) on

Don’t forget your hat like USA-loving actress Jessica Biel. It’s totally acceptable to be all matchy matchy at a soccer game. In fact, it’s encouraged.

Sneakers

GO #USA!!! (or a Portugal/Ghana tie would be fantastic) #USMNT #LetsDoThis

A post shared by Josh Duhamel (@joshduhamel) on

Little ones can show off team pride too. We love how Josh Duhamel’s son rocks cute sneakers with his jersey. It’s a good look for adults too.

Denim Shorts

???yeaaaahhh!!!!!

A post shared by Gisele Bündchen (@gisele) on

Stay comfortable and fresh in denim shorts like model Gisele Bündchen. They’ll pair well with any color jersey.

Team Flag

Vaaammooossss Braasssiiilll!!!!!!!!!! #BRA #copa2014 #worldcup2014

A post shared by Camilla Belle (@camillabelle) on

Wearing your team pride in the form of a flag is another cool option. When you’re not waving it in the air after your team scores a goal, you can use it as shade from the sun or wrap yourself in it if it gets chilly.

Nail Art

You can also represent your team with intricate nail art like Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio. If you’re not a pro at doing your own nails, opt for nail wraps instead. They come in lots of different colors and patterns, so finding ones that match your team will be easy.
