Where and How To Watch Team USA Women’s Soccer Players

The U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) claimed Gold for the fifth time at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, but you won’t need to wait four more years to catch the players in action again. The 2025 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season kicks off in March 2025 for its 13th season after breaking the league’s regular season attendance record in 2024.

With more than a dozen members of Team USA on NWSL rosters, you can see players from The Stars and Stripes step off the Olympic podium and back onto the pitch in their chase for the NWSL Championship. Below, find a breakdown of the NWSL players from the 2024 gold medal-winning Team USA squad and how to keep up with the league and teams they represent.

How to Watch NWSL Matches

The 2025 NWSL regular season kicks off on March 14. Ahead of the opening weekend, the league hosts the sixth annual NWSL Challenge Cup on March 4; the 2025 preseason exhibition presents the first 2024 Final rematch between reigning champs the Orlando Pride and the Washington Spirit. Once the season has started, there will be a break from June 23 to July 31 for the 2025 Copa América Femenina and UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 tournaments. The 2025 NWSL regular season’s finale, otherwise known as Decision Day, falls on November 2, followed by the NWSL Playoffs beginning November 7 and the NWSL Championship on November 22.

On the international schedule, Team USA is set to follow their dazzling, 2024 Gold Medal performance with more matches across 2025, including the SheBelieves Cup and international friendlies against Brazil in April and China in May. In the meantime, many stateside soccer fans will have the opportunity to catch their favorite players live on their home pitch during the NWSL’s season. NWSL Matches on TV

If you’re unable to score tickets to a match in-person, the NWSL offers several options to follow your professional club of choice. Connect with the league directly with the NWSL+ App, which features realtime coverage, replays and more and is compatible with Apple TV, Fire TV and Roku. Select NWSL matches broadcast live on ABC, CBS, ESPN and ION Television; matches airing on CBS can also be streamed via Paramount+, while ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 dates are available to stream via ESPN+. Matches take place weekly between Fridays and Sundays. Game dates and times vary by team and network, but the 2025 NWSL schedule features select Friday night matches on Prime Video, typically kicking off at either 8:00 p.m. ET or 10:00 p.m. ET. Back-to-back matches air every Saturday on ION Television beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

  • Alyssa Naeher: The starting goalkeeper for Team USA in 2024, Naeher joined Team USA in 2014 and has a total 115 National Team “caps,” or appearances, including a Bronze Medal run at the Tokyo Games 2020. In 2014, she was named the NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year and stands as the league’s all-time saves leader. Naeher earned U.S. Soccer’s Female Player of the Year award and announced her retirement from international competition at the end of 2024.
  • Mallory Swanson: The 2022 Best XI forward began playing for the USWNT in 2016, netting 38 goals across 103 caps. Swanson became the youngest U.S. goalscorer at Rio 2016 and closed Paris 2024 as Team USA’s leading scorer with four goals, the last of which clinched a 1-0 win over Brazil in the gold medal match.

  • Jane Campbell: Team USA’s alternate goalkeeper, Campbell was invited to the USWNT in 2017. The 2023 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year and Best XI selection has 10 caps for Team USA and earned a bronze medal at Tokyo 2020. However, she did not receive a Gold medal following Team USA’s win in Paris because she did not play.

  • Tierna Davidson: The starting center back on Team USA, Davidson has 67 caps since joining the squad in 2017, along with an Olympic Bronze Medal in 2020 and Gold in 2024. Drafted No. 1 in the 2019 NWSL College Draft, Davidson signed with Gotham FC in 2024.
  • Rose Lavelle: Team USA’s starting midfielder with 110 total caps, Lavelle has been a USWNT player since 2017 and previously won Bronze with the 2020 squad. Lavelle was drafted into the NWSL with the No. 1 pick in 2017 and earned Best or Second XI selections in 2019, 2022 and 2024. She signed to Gotham FC ahead of the 2024 season.
  • Emily Sonnett: Two-time Olympic medalist Emily Sonnett has two NWSL Championships to match, won in 2017 and 2021. Drafted No. 1 in the 2016 NWSL College Draft, the midfielder-defender has recorded 105 caps and two goals for Team USA since 2015. Sonnett joined Gotham FC in 2024.

  • Casey Murphy: The substitute goalkeeper in 2024, Murphy played her first match for the USWNT in 2021 and has since logged 20 caps. Murphy was a finalist for the NWSL’s 2019 Goalkeeper of the Year in her first season and helped secure Challenge Cup wins for the Courage in 2022 and 2023. Ahead of the 2024 season, Murphy had already recorded more than 30 shutouts in the NWSL.
  • Jaedyn Shaw: The forward-midfielder was initially called up to the USWNT in 2023 and has since recorded 24 caps and eight goals, including a record-setting four goals in her first four starts. Outside of her gold medal performance in Paris, Shaw earned a Best XI placement in 2023 and helped San Diego Wave FC secure the NWSL Shield in 2023 and the NWSL Challenge Cup in 2024. She was traded to the North Carolina Courage in 2025.

In 2023, Sams was drafted to the Orlando Pride and earned both the NWSL Defender of the Year award and a spot on the NWSL Best XI in 2024. With the Pride, she has also won the NWSL Championship and Shield in 2024.

  • Sam Coffey: The defensive midfielder has played for the USWNT since 2022, recording 31 caps and one goal in international play. Coffey entered the NWSL in 2022 and earned two Best XI selections, in 2022 and 2023, and was the regular season assist leader and an MVP finalist in the latter season. She won the NWSL Championship with Portland Thorns FC in 2022.
  • Sophia Wilson (née Smith): Team USA’s starting forward, Wilson joined the squad in 2020 and has made 58 caps along with 24 goals, including scores at Paris 2024. Drafted to the NWSL at No. 1 in 2020, Wilson was the league MVP and Golden Boot winner in 2022, Best XI in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and the NWSL Championship with Portland in 2022, where she was named the game’s MVP. For the USWNT, Wilson was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year by the United States Soccer Federation in 2022.

  • Lynn Biyendolo (née Williams): One of the most decorated NWSL players of all-time, Biyendolo has won four NWSL Championships, three NSWL Shields, two Best XI placements and the 2016 MVP and Golden Boot. The forward stands as the NWSL’s all-time leading goalscorer, a feat she accomplished during the 2024 season, as well as the league’s second-most active all-time assist leader. A USWNT member since 2016, Biyendolo has earned 78 caps, a Bronze Medal from Tokyo 2020 and a Gold from Paris 2024, where she scored one goal in a 4–1 victory over Germany. She joined Seattle Reign FC in 2025.

  • Croix Bethune: Making her Olympic debut in Paris, Croix Bethune was promoted to the USWNT ahead of the Paris Games and has made three total appearances, including a critical substitution for an injured Jaedyn Shaw in a group stage victory over Australia. Drafted by Washington in 2024, the midfielder earned the Rookie of Year and Midfielder of the Year as well as a Best XI selection in her first season.
  • Casey Krueger: As a member of Team USA since 2016, the outside defender added the Paris Gold to her Bronze from Tokyo 2020. Krueger was drafted to the NWSL in 2013, but didn’t play her first game until 2016 due to injury. She has since notched three Best XI placements (in 2017, 2019 and 2024), one Second XI in 2016 and two finalist nominations for Defender of the Year in 2017 and 2019. Washington signed Kruger in 2024.
  • Trinity Rodman: The starting USWNT forward has been on the squad since 2022, netting 46 caps and 10 goals including her three at Paris 2024. In 2021, an 18-year old Rodman became the youngest player at the time to be drafted to the NWSL. She set a then-record in her debut game for youngest American goalscorer in the league’s history. Her impressive debut season included Rodman winning the 2021 NWSL Rookie of the Year and pushing Washington to its first NWSL Championship victory, while also making the 2021 Best XI team and leading the league in assists. Rodman also earned spots on the Second XI in 2023 and Best XI in 2024.
  • Hal Hershfelt: The Washington midfielder was elevated to the USWNT as an alternate for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Although she traveled to the Games and trained with the team, Hershfelt did not receive a Gold Medal after recording no playing time in Olympic competition. However, she was selected to the 2024 NWSL Second XI at the end of her rookie season.
