Step Inside: The Echo in Los Angeles
A longstanding pillar of L.A.’s thriving music scene, The Echo is located in the city’s Echo Park neighborhood at 1822 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026. While relatively small, the venue provides nights that music lovers rarely forget, whether they’re being introduced to a rising artist about to break into the mainstream, attending one of The Echo’s famous punk shows or being dazzled by the likes of Lorde, HAIM or Run the Jewels.
The Echo History
The Echo opened as a live music venue and nightclub in 2001. Before its life as an intimate venue to see up-and-coming acts, the space was a Latin restaurant and club, and is still emblazoned with the eatery’s original name — Nayarit — on its facade facing Sunset Blvd.
Since its founding, The Echo has developed a reputation as one of L.A.’s premier live music destinations, whether introducing the next hot new band to the L.A. scene or seeing the likes of Billie Eilish, St. Vincent, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Religion and more play exclusive, sold-out shows there to a packed room filled with devoted fans.
