Buena Vista Social Club’s self-titled 1997 album sold more than a million copies and won the Grammy Award in 1998 for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album, and now the record-breaking Cuban ensemble’s music has taken over Broadway to the tune of five Tony Awards. Buena Vista Social Club transports audiences to Old Havana, where a woman named Omara leaves a steady gig at the Tropicana nightclub to discover the music that will change her life forever, including boleros like “Lágrimas Negras,” “Dos gardenias,” and “Silencio.”

This fall, baseball fever officially takes over Buena Vista Social Club with not one but two legends of the sport joining the company. Former MLB All-Star and recent New York Mets player José Iglesias serves as the musical’s narrator through November 15. Plus, New York Yankees icon and four-time World Series champ Bernie Williams also joins the company on October 22 for a six-week run playing guitar in the band.

Oh, Mary!

Mary Todd Lincoln’s acclaimed, demented reign as the brightest cabaret star on Broadway is showing no signs of stopping, with Bowen Yang kicking off a brand-new administration as America’s favorite First Lady opposite Phillip James Brannon as Mary’s Husband. The current cast also includes Bianca Leigh as Mary’s Chaperone, Tony Macht as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant and Barrett Foa as Mary’s Teacher.

Just In Time

Jeremy Jordan continues to have the time of his life stepping into Bobby Darin’s dancing shoes in Just In Time. The two-time Tony nominee is joined in the basement of Wicked by Carrie St. Louis as Sandra Dee, Debbie Gravitte as Polly, Joe Barbara as Charlie Maffia, Emily Bergl as Nina/Mary, Lance Roberts as Ahmet Ertegun and Caesar Samayoa as Don Kirshner.

Meanwhile, Ariana Madix just began her limited engagement in the show as Connie Francis, which runs through November 22. In an exclusive interview with Ticketmaster ahead of opening night, the reality TV darling opened up about returning to Broadway two years after making her debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago. “I still always have this feeling, like, when I was on Broadway and then when I left, I just had this feeling of, ‘I want to be in the play!’ she said. “I always want to be in the play.”

Schmigadoon!

Something rude has descended on Schmigadoon! Taking over from outgoing Tony nominee Ana Gasteyer, Jennifer Simard is now starring as Mildred Layton — the busybody reverend’s wife responsible for stirring up strife, tribulation and all kinds of shame in the town square inside the Nederlander Theatre. The Death Becomes Her alum joins the four-time Tony-winning production alongside original stars like Alex Brightman, Sara Chase, Ann Harada, Brad Oscar, Max Clayton, McKenzie Kurtz and more.

Billy Crystal 860

Billy Crystal makes his grand return to Broadway with his new one-man show, Billy Crystal 860. Directed by Scott Ellis, the Tony-winning comedian’s new show was inspired by unimaginable devastation — losing his home of more than 45 years in the Pacific Palisades fire. Taking the show’s name from the street number of his longtime address, Crystall relives his memories and moments that mattered the most, and reflects on how the power of laughter can overcome even the hardest of times. Billy Crystal 860 premieres at the Imperial Theatre for a 14-week limited engagement starting October 1.

Disney’s Aladdin

You ain’t never had a friend like her! More than a decade after making her Broadway debut, Sherri Shepherd is finally back on the New York stage. Starting October 16, the longtime talk show host will head into the Cave of Wonders as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin. She’ll join the long-running, family-friendly hit at the New Amsterdam Theatre through January 3, starring alongside Rodney Ingram as lovable street rat Aladdin, Sonya Balsara as Princess Jasmine, Dennis Stowe as the villainous Jafar and more.
