
As New York City’s frigid winter gives way to spring, fade in on a jam-packed Broadway season. The Picture of Dorian Gray
Sarah Snook is a force of nature in the Kip Williams-directed The Picture of Dorian Gray, the latest Broadway adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s singular bombshell work of art, which begins previews March 10 at the Music Box Theatre after a blockbuster run in London. The Succession standout will fearlessly tackle all 26 roles in the stage play, from Dorian Gray and Basil Hallward to Lord Henry Wotton, Sibyl Vane, Alan Campbell and beyond.

Boop! The Musical
Boop-oop-a-doop! The Queen of Animation, Betty Boop, comes to vivacious, colorful (and three-dimensional!) life on the Broadway stage in Boop! The Musical. Directed and choreographed by three-time Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, the exciting and inventive new musical stars Jasmine Amy Rogers as Betty Boop with music by the legendary 16-time Grammy winner David Foster, lyrics by Susan Birkenhead and a book by Bob Martin. Boop! The Musical begins previews at the Broadhurst Theatre starting March 11.

SMASH
5, 6, 7, 8! SMASH became something of a cult-loved underdog during its original two-season run on NBC from 2012 to 2013. Now, more than a decade on, the starry-eyed story of the fictional Marilyn Monroe biopic Bombshell will become an actual Broadway reality starring Robyn Hurder, Brooks Ashmanskas, Krysta Rodriguez, John Behlmann, Kristine Nielsen, Caroline Bowman and more, with fan-favorite songs like “Let Me Be Your Star” and “They Just Keep Moving The Line” reimagined for the stage. Performances begin March 11 at the Imperial Theatre.

Good Night, and Good Luck
George Clooney earned his first pair of Oscar nominations for the 2005 film Good Night, and Good Luck, and now he’s bringing his acclaimed passion project to the Broadway stage. The superstar will make his Broadway debut as Edward R. Murrow — marking for his first stage performance since the mid-’80s, as well as a pivot after portraying the legendary journalist’s co-producer Fred W. Friendly in the original film. Helmed by Tony-winning director David Cromer, the play will begin performances March 12 at the Winter Garden Theatre.

The Last Five Years
The Last Five Years has been a cherished favorite of theater kids across the country since it first debuted Off-Broadway in 2002 starring Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott. After nearly 25 years, Jason Robert Brown’s tragic love story between struggling actress Cathy and acclaimed writer Jamie is finally making its Broadway debut, with Adrienne Warren and Nick Jonas as the ill-fated couple whose romance sparks and snuffs out in a matter of five years. Previews for the show start March 18 at the Hudson Theatre, with a run planned for just 14 weeks.

John Proctor Is The Villain
Netflix darling Sadie Sink headlines John Proctor Is The Villain, a new play by Kimberly Belflower that follows a modern high school English class studying The Crucible — all as they navigate young romance, sex ed, scandalous gossip whispered in the hallways between classes and more. The show begins flipping Arthur Miller’s 1953 masterpiece on its head starting March 20 at the Booth Theatre.

Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends
Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends is more than a musical revue — it’s a heartwarming tribute to the life and legacy of the great Stephen Sondheim, who passed away in 2021 at the age of 91. Anchored by Broadway legends Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga, the revue features songs from hit Sondheim musicals like Into The Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, A Little Night Music, Company and more. Arriving on Broadway after hit stints in London and Los Angeles, Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends begins performances March 25 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Floyd Collins
Floyd Collins originally ran Off-Broadway for just 25 performances back in the winter of 1996, but the cult musical — about the 1925 death of legendary cave explorer Floyd Collins — by Adam Guettel and Tina Landau is finally making its way to Broadway after nearly three decades. Featuring a cast that includes Jeremy Jordan, Lizzy McAlpine, Taylor Trensch, Marc Kudisch, Wade McCollum, Jason Gotay, Sean Allan Krill, Jessica Molaskey and Cole Vaughan, Floyd Collins begins performances March 27 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater at Lincoln Center.

Just In Time
Jonathan Groff steps into the dapper shoes of Bobby Darin in Just In Time, a new biopic musical about the crooner starting March 28 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Developed by Tony-winning director Alex Timbers, Just in Time puts the spotlight on classic tunes in Darin’s iconic songbook, including “Mack The Knife,” “Splish Splash” and “Beyond the Sea.” The show also stars Joe Barbara, Emily Bergl, Erika Henningsen, Gracie Lawrence, Michele Pawk and more.

Oh, Mary!
Oh, Mary! continues its smash run from hit Off-Broadway oddball to can’t-miss Broadway laugh-fest as Tituss Burgess takes over the role of a deranged Mary Todd Lincoln from Betty Gilpin starting March 18. The Broadway vet — and six-time Emmy nominee — will headline Oh, Mary! for only three weeks before playwright and original star Cole Escola returns with the entire original Broadway cast on April 8.
