How to Get Ready to Shop for Tickets

With sold out shows last week and excitement growing about the newly added dates, we expect demand for tickets to continue to be exceptionally high. We are committed to fighting ticket bots so that more tickets get into the hands of fans. This means this ticket sale will work a little differently than what you may expect. This sale will use the newest ticket technology, a Queue that acts as a virtual line – blocking bots and fighting malicious technology.

Here’s what you can expect on the day of the sale:

1. Sign in to Ticketmaster at least 10 minutes before the sale begins and locate the date you wish to shop for. Reminder: Make sure your payment info in your Account is current.

2. The Waiting Room will open 10 Minutes prior to the event going on sale. You’ll want to join before the sale begins. Those who join the Waiting Room before the sale begins will be provided a random place in the Queue. If you join after the sale begins, you will be placed at the end.

3. When the sale begins, you will be moved into the Queue and additional information will be provided. While you’re waiting to shop, please do not refresh, close, or leave the page.

4. When it’s your turn to shop, you’ll use the map to select your seats, then proceed to checkout. Due to high-demand, tickets will be available first-come, first-served, and are not guaranteed.

Shopping Tip: If you’re planning to shop for an event on your mobile device, do not allow your screen to dim or your Waiting Room will pause. Also, resist the urge to refresh. Your page will automatically refresh when you enter the Queue.

Why is there a Queue?

The Queue is a sophisticated system that is designed to protect fans and fight bots. The queuing system that appears on your screen is working in the background and automatically moves you toward the front as fans continue to shop. While we know that every fan may not be able to get tickets, this will help ensure that we keep tickets out of the clutches of bots.

Why are there tickets already for sale on other sites?

In addition to bots, a growing problem that we fight against daily is a practice called “Speculative Listing” (Spec Listing) or “Speculative Tickets.” A Spec Listing is when unofficial sellers list tickets for sale even though they do not actually have those tickets. They are betting (or speculating) that they will be able to get tickets and then resell them to fans. To learn more about Spec Tickets, head over to https://blog.ticketmaster.com/spec-ticketing/
