Kia Center History

In sunny downtown Orlando, Florida, Kia Center opened in 2010. The home court of the NBA’s Orlando Magic, Kia Center hosts many sporting events including professional hockey, MMA and boxing, as well as world-class entertainment events, family shows and exhibitions. The indoor arena was renamed from Amway Center to Kia Center in December 2023 in partnership with Kia America.

Kia Center Performers

Since Kia Center’s first concert — Shakira on September 28, 2010 — and the Orlando Magic’s first preseason game against the New Orleans Hornets days later, the arena has hosted numerous major performances. Its stage has seen the Eagles, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Guns N’ Roses, Paul McCartney and Billie Eilish.

Planning Your Visit to Kia Center

You’ll find many food and drink options during an event at the Kia Center. The exclusive Club Level restaurant Jernigan’s overlooks the arena bowl. Fields Ultimate Lounge is on the Event Level near the Orlando Magic locker room. And there’s also the ULTRA Club (open-air drinking and dining), the Ozone Bar and the Bud Light Baseline Bar. Award-winning craft beer brewery Big Storm Brewing Co. is set to take over The Magic Grill and offer a place for visitors to hang out any day of the week.

What are the Kia Center parking options?

Parking for events at Kia Center includes the GEICO Garage (400 West South St., adjacent to the Center and accessible via the pedestrian bridge), Garland Avenue Lot (109 West Pine St.), 55W Garage (60 West Pine St.) and Central Boulevard Garage (53 W Central Blvd). There’s also VIP parking in the Blue Lot on the arena’s north side.

Does Kia Center serve food?

Yes. Both indoor and outdoor restaurants and bars are available at Kia Center.

What are the seating options at Kia Center?

With a capacity of up to 18,500 for NBA basketball, 17,000 for hockey and arena football, and 17,000 for concerts, Kia Center offers multiple tiers of private suites, club seats and loge boxes.

What are the Kia Center safety & security guidelines?

With two exceptions — small medical and parenting bags — bags and containers are not permitted at Kia Center. Prohibited items include video or audio recorders and cameras with detachable lenses, drones, helium balloons, illegal drugs, laptops, laser pointers, and noisemakers and amplifiers (except for cowbells, which are permitted for Orlando Solar Bears games). Check on the venue’s health and safety policies, which include COVID-19 specific guidelines, before attending an event.
