There’s really only one place where “Bodda Getta” makes perfect sense: Jordan-Hare Stadium, home of the University of Auburn Tigers football team. Located on the downtown border of Alabama’s “Loveliest Village on The Plains” Auburn, the university stays central to locals, fans and students alike, with Jordan-Hare as the ultimate reception for every Tiger Walk. Jordan-Hare Stadium History

Jordan-Hare Stadium opened as Auburn Stadium in 1939, predating the university’s own official name change from Alabama Polytechnic Institute to Auburn University in 1960. Following its first major expansion in 1949, the venue was renamed Cliff Hare Stadium after a long-serving dean and member of the inaugural 1892 football squad. In 1973, the name was amended to honor then-head coach Ralph “Shug” Jordan, who spent 30 years on the Auburn coaching staff and brought home the Tigers’ first national championship in 1957. The turf was dedicated as Pat Dye Field in 2005 for the four-time SEC-winning coach and athletic director.

After extensive renovation projects in the ’70s and ’80s, Jordan-Hare began to host more on-campus games, leading to the first home field Iron Bowl against Alabama in 1989. The home debut ended in an upset over the undefeated, No. 2-ranked Crimson Tide. More recently, the Jordan-Hare audience watched the game-winning Kick-Six field goal return in 2013.

The stadium set a record in 2015 with the installation of a 10,830-square foot HD video display above the south endzone, which is currently ranked second as the largest video screen in college sports. Jordan-Hare’s most recent expansion occurred in 2023 with additional field suites, concession updates and improved WiFi service.

Two hours ahead of the game, fans gather and cheer along the team’s Tiger Walk from the Athletics Complex to Jordan-Hare Stadium. Since 2000, home games begin with the War Eagle Flight, in which an untethered golden eagle glides down from the top of the stadium to midfield. Auburn’s winning home game traditions include tossing toilet paper after the first touchdown and more toilet paper rolling at Toomer’s Corner in a home win.

Parking and Admission at Jordan-Hare Stadium

Jordan-Hare Stadium is located at 251 South Donahue Drive in Auburn, Alabama. Parking options include reserved spaces via SpotHero, free on-campus parking, student and athletic lots and accessible parking. Free lots are first-come, first-served and open for tailgating at Hayfields, Community Gardens, Facilities Pond, Facilities Lot, Research Park and along Wire Street and Mell Street on Fridays before a game. Additional spots at Research Park as well as ADA-only parking open at the South Quad Parking Deck and VCOM Lot on Saturdays.

Premium tailgating spots are included in the REVELxp experience packages at McWhorter Lot, Pines Lot, South Donahue Lot and Campus Safety Lot. The price for paid parking at Jordan-Hare Stadium ranges $30 and above.

On game days, the free Tiger Transit bus runs on an expanded schedule that hits several off-campus locations, parking lots and the main gathering area at War Eagle Way. Shuttle services begin four hours before kickoff. Check out the up-to-date Tiger Transit route here.

Before entering Jordan-Hare Stadium, be aware that rules prohibit items such as artificial noisemakers, umbrellas, cameras with lenses over four inches, video cameras, weapons (including pocket knives) and stadium seats with arms. Smoking and vaping are also not permitted inside the venue. The Jordan-Hare Stadium bag policy allows any clear bag smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″.

Jordan-Hare Stadium Capacity & Seating Options

Although Auburn fans will likely want to find themselves behind the home team on the west side, any seat in Jordan-Hare Stadium offers a clear view of the action. Tickets typically fall between either general or club seating. The latter is composed of the Beckwith Club, Nelson Club and the North and South Clubs, and in 2024, Auburn installed three new club sections with the 350-person Locker Room Club, the end zone-adjacent Field Suites and the tailgate-friendly Hall of Fame Club. For an even more exclusive VIP experience at Jordan-Hare Stadium, guests can book the executive suites in the Heisman Club. For guests with accessibility needs, ADA compliant seating is available in sections 17, 18, 33, 35, 37 and 44.

Food & Beverage Options at Jordan-Hare Stadium

A variety of concessions can be found throughout Jordan-Hare Stadium. Along with game day favorites like pretzels and desserts, the venue holds six separate Chick-fil-A counters, local favorites like Momma Goldberg’s Deli and Chicken Salad Chick and multiple Grab-N-Go options at the Bodda Getta Market, Fast Flight and War Eagle Express. Additionally, the stadium’s mobile order service allows guests to preselect their meal and pick it up fresh. Outside food and beverages are not permitted aside from one factory sealed bottle of water per person. Alcohol is not sold inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.
