Primus Setlists: What to Expect From the 2026 Claypool Gold Tour

Primus has been pushing the boundaries of music for 40 years. Since forming in 1984, the group have traveled around the world, entertaining audiences with their amalgamation of progressive rock, metal, funk and psychedelic music.

With a changing lineup throughout the years, the band has welcomed an abundance of great musicians to its ranks. At present, Primus is composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde and drummer John “Hoffer” Hoffman. Their comical lyricism, musical innovation and unforgettable live performances have earned them ample praise from critics and millions of fans.

Primus’ Sailing the Seas of Cheese (1991) and Pork Soda (1993) both went Platinum, while their 1995 record, Tales from the Punchbowl is certified Gold. Their albums have also received three Grammy nominations — two for Best Surround Sound Album, and one for Best Hard Rock Performance.

This year, Primus are headlining The 2026 Claypool Gold Tour, which kicked off in Reno, Nevada on May 20, 2026. From there, the band hits a number of cities across North America, including Kansas City, Boston, Atlanta and San Diego. The summer outing is scheduled to wrap on July 4 with a show at Blue Note Napa Summer Sessions in Napa.

The 2026 Primus tour will include The Claypool Lennon Delirium and Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade as special guests on all dates.
