Metallica Concert Setlists: What to Expect at Their 2026 Sphere Residency

Update (March 6): This article has been updated with Metallica’s latest tour info.

Metallica have become one of the highest-grossing live acts of all-time for good reason: Aside from hosting a staggering collection of classic concerts, the heavy metal band has continued to push themselves as a touring band after performing shows every year for over four nearly uninterrupted decades.

In 2025, the band took on a massive outing, the M72 World Tour, offering an ambitious and immersive experience of the group’s career. Now, they’re taking immersion to a whole new level with a residency at the innovative Sphere Las Vegas.

The band will be taking over Sphere Las Vegas throughout the month of October, beginning with a show on October 1, 2026. Ahead of the residency at the state-of-the-art venue, take a look at a typical Metallica tour setlist and find everything you need to know about the band’s upcoming run.

Metallica Concert Setlist Info

Metallica have prided themselves on creating a unique setlist for each show since touring their 2003 album St. Anger, but the group decided to raise the bar further for the M72 World Tour, which often featured two shows per city with no-repeat songs. This is a format they’re reviving in part for their residency at Sphere Las Vegas; packages for multiple shows are available.

Although each Metallica setlist is unique by design, the band still tends to deliver many of their most familiar, most-played songs over the course of an evening, including “Master of Puppets,” “Enter Sandman,” “Seek & Destroy” and “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” The band has also installed newer material from their 2023 album 72 Seasons such as the Grammy-winning title track and singles like “Lux Æterna,” “If Darkness Had a Son” and “Screaming Suicide.”

Below, you can find a breakdown of Metallica’s live setlist from JMA Wireless Dome on April 19, 2025; check back in October 2026 for updates on the setlist at Sphere Las Vegas.
