Death Becomes Her (Original Broadway Cast Recording) Overview
We have a secret you would die for! More than three decades after becoming a cult classic starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn, Death Becomes Her has been resurrected as a smash musical on Broadway.
Starring Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, Christopher Sieber and Michelle Williams, the immortal story of best frenemies Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp opened at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in November 2024. Ever since, Death Becomes Her on Broadway has been turning audiences’ heads with an unending supply of hilariously vicious one-liners and irresistible songs like “For The Gaze,” “Don’t Say I Didn’t (Warn You)” and “Alive Forever.”
The riotously funny musical leads the pack ahead of the 2025 Tony Awards with 10 nominations, including Best Musical and dual Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical nods for its dueling pair of leading ladies—as well as Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre.
Just in time for the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday, June 8, the Death Becomes Her (Original Broadway Cast Recording) is now available streaming and on CD.

Lyrics to Death Becomes Her’s Most Famous Songs
“If you want perfection/ Take a sip and drink it in/ Kill your old complexion/ Welcome to your brand new skin!” – Viola Van Horn and Company in “If You Want Perfection”
“A little touch of magic/ In a world obsessed with science/ For those who’ll pay the price, what would you sacrifice for/ Fame? (I’ll take it) Freedom? (I’ll take it) Sex? (take it) Money? (I’ll take it)/ Repentance? (take it, take it) Retention? (take it, take it) Acceptance? (take it, take it, take it, take it) / Ascension? (take it, take it, take it)/ For power or potential? For attention or revenge?” – Viola Van Horn in “If You Want Perfection”
“Yes, everything I do is for the gaze,” – Madeline Ashton in “For The Gaze”
“So tell me, Ernest, what would you do to me? Aesthetically?” – Madeline Ashton in “Tell Me, Ernest”
“Wrinkled, wrinkled little star/ Remind them who the f–k you are!” – Madeline Ashton in “Falling Apart”
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you/ You knew how this would go/ Don’t waste your time in pretending there will be some happy ending/ Put your trust in me, and just enjoy the show/ But don’t say I didn’t…” – Viola Van Horn in “Don’t Say I Didn’t (Warn You)”
“That was rude/ That was pretty f–kin’ rude,” – Helen Sharp in “Hit Me”
“We can face eternity/ Just you and me, both damned to be/ Alive, forever,” – Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp in “Alive Forever”
