In 2002, the multi platinum-selling pop star behind generational hits like “My Heart Will Go On,” “The Power of Love” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” had just released her eighteenth album, A New Day Has Come, which became the first in her history-making career to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Dion’s corresponding residency to promote the album, A New Day…, rewrote the rules of what kind of entertainment was possible in Sin City — in large part due to the brand-new Colosseum. With its bombastic Roman-style architecture, unique seating design and intimate distance to the stage, the theater set a new bar for what audiences could expect from their nights on the Strip. For its part, Dion’s residency eventually stretched to more than 700 performances over four years, becoming the highest-grossing concert residency in history.

In the wake of Dion breaking records at The Colosseum, the venue also attracted headliners like Elton John, Cher, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey, Usher and Adele, ushering in a new era of star-studded Las Vegas residencies. Dion also returned to The Colosseum for her second residency, Celine, which ran for more than 400 performances from 2011 to 2019.

Thanks to its unique design, every seat inside The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is no more than 145 feet from the stage. However, the main orchestra and loge seating in the two lowest bowls still offer the closest sightlines for fans to get up close to their favorite artists.

Elevated seats in the mezzanines provide aerial views of the entire stage — though prospective ticket buyers should note that the steep incline from the upper bowls may be jarring for guests sensitive to heights.
