US Open Ticket Prices (What to Expect)
Prices for US Open tickets vary based on a number of factors. Primarily, tennis fans can expect price differences between venues, seat locations, day sessions versus evening sessions and the tournament round.
As the tournament progresses, price fluctuations will typically occur based on the sessions’ matchups. Therefore, the best time to buy tickets to the US Open is typically when they first go on sale via Ticketmaster, the Official Fan Ticket Marketplace of the US Open.
- On average, the most expensive tickets are located closest to the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium, followed by reserved seating at Louis Armstrong Stadium.
- Guests at the US Open can also find high value seats in Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium at lower cost during select matches, particularly earlier in the tournament and within higher sections for reserved seating.
- Grandstand tickets and Grounds Passes offer the best deals with wide-ranging access to USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
You can find US Open tickets in Arthur Ashe Stadium as low as $43, in Louis Armstrong Stadium as low as $139, in the Grandstand as low as $180, and for the Grounds as low as $65.
Grounds Pass vs Stadium Tickets
| Ticket Type | Access | Reserved Seat Status | Best Use Case | Limitations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grounds Pass | First come, first served general admission to Louis Armstrong Stadium, Grandstand, Field Courts and Grounds | No; General Admission only | Flexible fans who want to move between courts, catch multiple matches and players in one visit, or attend on a lower budget | Does not include Arthur Ashe Stadium; seating in other venues is first come, first served and can fill up quickly during popular matchups |
| Stadium Seat | Reserved seat in the purchased stadium, plus first-come, first-served access to multiple venues on the grounds; access varies by stadium | Yes | Fans locked into a specific date, player or matchup; fans who want a guaranteed seat | Higher price; less flexibility to move between venues; Grandstand offers day sessions only and Armstrong evening sessions end earlier in the tournament than Ashe sessions |
Choosing between a Grounds Pass and stadium seating at the US Open depends on a guest’s ideal experience, including access, budget, match atmosphere and general fandom.
A US Open Grounds Pass allows tennis fans to customize their visit with first-come, first-served seating at all courts except Arthur Ashe Stadium. With a lower average ticket price, the Grounds Pass gives greater schedule flexibility to move between venues, catch more players during simultaneous matchups or spend time exploring the Grounds while matches are being played.
On the other hand, stadium tickets guarantee fans a seat at one of USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center’s premier venues. Although stadium ticket prices tend to be higher compared to Grounds Passes, dedicated tennis fans can ensure their spot at the most competitive rounds of the tournament with a stadium ticket, along with a wider range of viewing options based on their budget and seat preference.
What’s the Difference Between US Open Day and Evening Sessions?
| Ticket Type | Gate Entry | Typical Start Time | Stadiums Offered | Match Volume | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day Session | Park opening to 6:00 p.m. ET | 11:00 a.m. ET to noon | Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, Grandstand | More matches across more courts | Budget conscious fans; catching multiple players |
| Evening Session | 6:00 p.m. ET to closing | Around 7:00 p.m. ET | Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium | Fewer matches; marquee matchups; concentrated crowds | Fans seeking top ranked players in primetime |
Day Session
A Day Session ticket grants gate entry to the US Open from opening to 6:00 p.m. ET, with matches typically starting between 11:00 a.m. and noon. Day sessions apply to Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Grandstand and Grounds Pass tickets. Because more matches need to be completed early in the tournament, day sessions tend to include a higher volume of matchups spread across more courts, giving fans the chance to catch several players during one visit. Day Session tickets are best for first-time attendees, fans attending on a relaxed budget, and any fan eager to move between courts and catch multiple matches in a single visit.
Evening Session
An Evening Session ticket grants gate entry to the US Open from 6:00 p.m. ET to closing, with the first evening match generally starting around 7:00 p.m. Evening sessions are only offered for Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium; the Grandstand does not hold evening sessions. Evening sessions feature fewer matches than day sessions, but they typically showcase the tournament’s top-ranked players competing and attract the largest crowds. Fans should opt for Evening Session tickets to catch the biggest stars in tennis and soak up the US Open’s nighttime atmosphere, all while avoiding any daytime scheduling conflicts.
How to Choose the Best US Open Ticket for You
While the US Open hosts over one million guests over three weeks, every fan can choose a unique experience tailored to their preferences and needs each year. To find the right pass for you, consider the following:
- First-Time Attendees: Opt for the Grounds Pass to take in the US Open environment with free-ranging access to the Grounds and loose, low-cost General Admission seating

US Open 2026 Tickets FAQ
Can I buy US Open tickets last-minute?
Yes, fans can still purchase last-minute US Open tickets once the tournament begins via Ticketmaster, the Official Fan Ticket Marketplace of the US Open. Tickets typically remain on sale, subject to availability, for up to one hour after the first match of the day begins. Tickets are delivered as mobile tickets, so they can be purchased, verified and added to the Ticketmaster App within minutes at the venue gate.
What types of US Open tickets are available?
Fans can choose from Grounds Passes, which offer first-come, first-served access to most courts, or reserved seats in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium or the Grandstand. Multi-session plans bundling several sessions into one ticket are also available for Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium.
What is the difference between a Grounds Pass and a stadium seat?
A Grounds Pass does not include a reserved seat. It offers first-come, first-served access to Louis Armstrong Stadium, Grandstand, Field Courts and Grounds, but not Arthur Ashe Stadium. A stadium seat, in Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium or Grandstand, guarantees a reserved seat for that session, plus first-come, first-served access to lower-tier venues.
What is the difference between Day and Evening sessions?
Day Sessions run from opening to 6:00 p.m. ET and include more matches across more courts, including the Grandstand and Grounds. Evening Sessions run from 6:00 p.m. ET to closing, feature fewer but more high-profile matchups, and are only available for Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium.
Are resale tickets available on Ticketmaster?
Yes, Ticketmaster’s Verified Resale marketplace offers authenticated and verified resale tickets throughout the US Open tournament. Check Verified Resale listings to find tickets for sold out sessions, premium seating and more.
Do US Open ticket prices drop closer to the match?
Ticket prices for the US Open vary by major factors like date, session number, venue and matchup demand. However, prices are typically lowest when tickets first go on sale, and can fluctuate for sessions as the tournament progresses, but there is no guarantee prices will fall ahead of match day.
Is it easier to find last-minute tickets for Day Sessions or Evening Sessions?
Day Sessions typically have more last-minute ticket availability due to a higher volume of matches, more court usage spread across the grounds and more ticket types offered. Evening Session tickets are limited to Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium and tend to feature the tournament’s marquee matchups, so last-minute Evening Session tickets can be harder to find and more expensive, especially in the second week.
