Between 1897 and 2022 the Texas Longhorns and TCU Horned Frogs played 92 times, with Texas leading the head-to-head 64-27 with a tie. Texas also has the largest margin of victory 72 points in a 1915 shutout of the Horned Frogs. Texas also has the longest win streak at 24 straight from 1968 to 1991. However, between 2012 and 2022, the Horned Frogs have had the better of the Longhorns. TCU beat Texas in Austin in 2012, 20–13, which would start a run that saw the Horned Frogs coming out victorious seven times in 10 games. The Horned Frogs best run came from 2014–2017 when they won four straight games, each time holding the Longhorns to 10 points or less.

The Texas Longhorns play at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Texas’ campus in Austin, Texas. Nicknamed “DKR,” the stadium was formerly called War Memorial Stadium, Memorial Stadium and Texas Memorial Stadium. DKR has a seating capacity of 100,119, the most in the Big XII and the seventh-most in college football.

The TCU Horned Frogs play at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Ft. Worth, Texas on TCU’s campus. Named after the famous local businessman, Amon G. Carter Stadium has several nicknames, most prominently “The Carter” and “Hell’s Half Acre.” The Carter has a seating capacity of 47,000.
