Step Inside: Vaught Hemingway Stadium – Home of the Ole Miss Rebels

Home of the Mississippi Rebels

Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is home to the University of Mississippi Rebels football team. Its address being 6 All American Drive, Oxford, Mississippi 38655, the stadium is located on the south end of the Ole Mississippi campus between The Grove and the Manning Athletics Performance Center.

Every other year, the stadium trades off holding the Egg Bowl — the annual game between Ole Miss and their Southeastern Conference rivals, the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Vaught-Hemingway Stadium History

Vaught-Hemingway Stadium opened on October 1, 1915 and was originally named after Judge William Hemingway. In 1982, the stadium added Ole Miss coach Johnny Vaught’s surname to the name. In its more than a century of history, multiple renovations have taken place to the stadium, with a press box being added in 1988, the installation of lights in 1990 and a Jumbotron erected in 1997.

As of the 2008 season, the Jumbotron was upgraded to an HD video board, which was further upgraded to three new 13-millimeter pixel HD boards along the north and south ends of the stadium.

In April 2023, the stadium made its debut as a concert venue when Morgan Wallen brought his One Night at a Time World Tour to Mississippi, playing a second night one year later on April 20, 2024.

Parking and Admission at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium

Game day parking on the University of Mississippi campus is allocated by permit, which can be obtained via the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation. (Permits are also available for ADA-accessible parking on campus.)

Prohibited items include alcoholic beverages, artificial noisemakers, food and drink containers, video cameras, umbrellas, backpacks and carry bags, chair backs larger than a single seat, strollers and any other items “deemed hazardous by game-management personnel.”
