Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, has been the highlight of the City of Oaks’ music, sports and entertainment calendar since 1999. With various seating configurations holding up to 20,000 fans, the arena hosts more than 150 events and welcomes more than 1.5 million guests each year.

Along with year-round entertainment, Lenovo Center is also home to the Carolina Hurricanes and North Carolina State University Wolfpack men’s basketball team. Between games, the arena turns over for major music and comedy tours, family shows and more marquee events. In 2025, Lenovo Center underwent the first phase of its roughly $300 million renovation, with continued work expected to resume during the Hurricanes’ offseason periods through summer 2028.

Why Lenovo Center Still Feels Distinctive in Raleigh

Lenovo Center immediately became entwined with the City of Oaks when it opened with the Carolina Hurricanes hosting the New Jersey Devils on October 29, 1999. Initially named the Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena, the venue later became the RBC Center from 2002 to 2012, then PNC Arena until 2024. Lenovo Center became sacred ice when the Canes captured their first Stanley Cup championship in 2006 at home, and the arena hosted Games 1, 2 and 5 in Carolina’s victorious 2026 Stanley Cup run for their second title.

At Carolina hockey home games, it’s easy to get swept up with the Caniacs, especially with the arena-wide Storm Surge celebration after a Canes win. In a rare exception, the team performed the center-ice tradition before their home opener of the 2026-27 NHL season, where the reigning champs also raised their second banner in Lenovo Center and set a new regular-season attendance record at home with 19,250 fans.

With its championship legacy cemented, Lenovo Center heads into the future under the arena’s multi-year “Lenovo Center 2.0” enhancement project. The roughly $300 million renovation began in 2025, with the first phases introducing additional lower bowl seats, new concourse concessions, Bunker Suites, the Lenovo Legend Club and The View Bar. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2028, with more planned improvements such as a refreshed venue exterior, team store, and year-round beer hall, among more guest amenities.

Lenovo Center Seating & Layout Explained

Inside Lenovo Center, the oval-framed bowl is organized with four seating levels, three concourses, 51 suites and seven loge boxes. Each level offers a different mix of sightlines, elevation and guest amenities.

The lower level, made up of the 100-level sections, wraps around the ice during hockey games or the venue’s floor for concerts. The lower level connects to the Main Concourse, home to many of the arena’s concession stands and the Buffalo Brothers Zone sports bar. As part of Lenovo Center’s multi-year enhancement project, the lower bowl received new seating in 2026, along with a reconfiguration of the 100-level aisles designed to add more seats.

The PNC Club Level sits above in the 200-level sections. The club level adds a layer of hospitality as Club Seat holders can access the 9,100-square-foot Arena Club Restaurant, the Ledge Lounge bar and other club spaces. The PNC Victory Club occupies the north end of the arena, while private suites can be found on both the first level and club level.

The 300-level sections comprise Lenovo Center’s upper level and offer the highest vantage point in the building. Notably, the upper level’s concourse received one of the first upgrades in the “Lenovo Center 2.0” renovation project, including the View Bar by Sections 317 and 319, plus a new Grab & Go marketplace.

In 2026, the arena debuted lounge-style Bunker Suites at the event level. Located on the ground floor, the premium suites offer a private viewing space along with accompanying seats in the lower bowl just steps from the action.

Depending on the event type, Lenovo Center can hold a capacity of up to 20,000 fans, though the exact number shifts with each configuration. Due to venue upgrades throughout the arena’s ongoing renovation, the arena’s capacity has also shifted with additional seats in the lower bowl and new premium suite options introduced in 2026.

How the Setup Changes for Hockey, Basketball, & Concerts

Balancing between the Hurricanes’ hockey schedule, NC State Wolfpack’s college basketball home slate and year-round concerts and special events, Lenovo Center changes over between events regularly. However, each configuration places the action in a different part of the arena. Floor access, stage placement, sightlines and highest-demand tickets can vary from one night to the next, so make sure to verify the event-specific layout.

For Hurricanes games, the rink fills the arena floor and seating surrounds it on all sides. The first rows behind the glass put fans level with the play, while seats higher in the lower bowl and on the club level allow fans to follow plays with a full view of the arena floor while keeping close to the ice. The building is kept at about 63 degrees Fahrenheit during hockey games to maintain the ice.

For NC State men’s basketball, the court takes up less of the floor than a rink, leaving room for courtside seating. Typically, basketball configurations hold more fans than hockey.

Concert seating varies the most. End-stage productions place the stage at one end of the floor, with floor seating or standing room in front and the bowl angled toward the performers. Sections directly behind the stage may be closed or sold with limited views. Shows with in-the-round or 360-degree productions move the stage toward the center, shifting which seats have the most direct view. Sightlines can also be affected by sound boards, lighting rigs and video screens.

For smaller shows, the venue’s Moonlight Theater setup uses a curtaining system to create a more intimate room for roughly 4,000 to 10,000 guests. Family shows, wrestling events and comedy tours each bring their own floor plans as well.

Which Lenovo Center Experience Fits Your Priorities?

The best seat at Lenovo Center depends on what fans care about most, whether that means getting as close to the main event as possible, taking in the full production, enjoying premium hospitality or finding a budget-conscious option. Based on the event layout, the answer can also shift between hockey vs. basketball games and concerts.

Fans who want to get close to the action should look at lower-level or floor seating. For hockey, rows near the glass bring the speed and sound of the game front and center, though the lower angle can make it harder to see the full ice. For a more balanced view, the middle-to-upper rows of the lower bowl and club level seats combine elevation with proximity. Center and sideline sections tend to offer the most even view of the playing surface, while corner seats offer a diagonal angle on the action.

Above the lower bowl, the 300 level takes in the full bowl. For hockey, the higher elevation makes it easier to follow line changes and plays as they unfold. For concerts, it brings the lighting, screens and full stage production into view. Upper-level seats are often the most budget-friendly option, and the View Bar on the 300 level gives fans a social gathering space with a different vantage point. Prices vary by event, date and demand.

Suites, loge boxes and club spaces offer another way to experience Lenovo Center. Premium seating options net a higher price for the perks of a private or semi-private space, dedicated service and food and drink access. Several premium spaces sit above the lower bowl, so they also offer a different view than the front rows.

Notable Sections, Suites, Clubs, & Premium Vantage Points

Lenovo Center’s premium options range from private suites to club-level lounges, with even more seating options introduced during the arena’s ongoing, roughly $300 million enhancement project.

The arena’s 51 suites are the most private option, with private restrooms, premium staffing, flat-screen TVs, a private lounge area and catering menus prepared in-house. Suites are available for groups of 10 to 44 through annual leases or single-event rentals, based on availability. In 2026, the ground floor event-level Bunker Suites added private, enclosed, all-inclusive spaces with premium seating, in-suite catering and dedicated attendants.

Loge boxes offer a middle option between a suite and traditional seating. Lenovo Center’s seven loge boxes are a hybrid between a suite and premium season tickets, holding four to eight guests in a semi-private, all-inclusive setting. Unlike suites, loge boxes are leased and are not available on a nightly or rental basis.

For fans who want a reserved seat with hospitality access, Club Seats on the PNC Club Level include access to the Buffalo Brothers Zone, the Arena Club Restaurant and the Ledge Lounge. During Hurricanes games, On Ice and Center Ice Premier seats, which comprise the first two rows behind the glass and the three center sections at the red line, come with similar club-level access. The Ledge Lounge overlooks the arena floor at the south end of the club level and is equipped with a 140-foot full-service bar that stays open to premium ticket holders for the whole event.

Lenovo Center also has two dedicated club lounges. At the north end of the club level, the PNC Victory Club overlooks the arena floor and offers all-you-can-eat food stations, a full-service bar and a private lounge for its ticket holders. Debuted ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season, the Lenovo Legend Club is a lounge-style space with a full-service bar, dining options and lounge seating, set apart from the busier concourses.

Food, Drink, & the Social Experience at Lenovo Center

Lenovo Center holds more than 50 food and beverage outlets with a range of local and event-friendly dining options. While concessions vary by section and level, be sure to order the arena’s signature smoked BBQ sandwich with homemade coleslaw from NC Barbecue Company, with carts on both the main and upper concourses.

Sample more regional favorites like Tombachi, a Raleigh-based food-truck staple which serves hibachi plates and potstickers, and Two Roosters’ local ice cream. Alpaca Peruvian Chicken offers fresh salads and bowls, plus Cheerwine slushies for a special, sweet North Carolina dessert. Meanwhile, Willy’s Hot Chicken, co-founded by former Hurricanes player Justin Williams, serves chicken tenders and sliders at multiple spice levels.
