International Women’s Day is March 8, and to celebrate the girls who run the music world, Ticketmaster team members from around the globe contributed 133 songs to create a Global International Women’s Day Playlist.
Ticketmaster chose 133 tracks specifically to recognize that, at the current rate of progress, it’s projected to take 133 years to reach full gender parity. It’s all in line with the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, Accelerate Action, which emphasizes the importance of taking fast and pivotal steps towards achieving gender equality. Accelerate Action calls for an increase in urgency when it comes to addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face both personally and professionally.
From timeless classics to contemporary hits, these songs honor the strength, resilience and creativity of women in music.
