Hootie & The Blowfish only wanna be with you as they hit the road for the 2024 Summer Camp with Trucks Tour. Blowfish fans are set to spend another summer on vacation together after the Grammy-winning alternative rock act hosted the four-day, Cancún, Mexico-based HootieFest in 2022 and 2023. Now, the band is bringing the beachside vibes back to the States for their first tour in five years.

The 40-plus date journey across North America features some big shows, including two homecoming performances in Columbia, South Carolina. After kicking off in Dallas on May 30, the tour runs through the entire summer and wraps in West Palm Beach, Florida on September 28.

Who are Hootie & The Blowfish?

Hootie & The Blowfish are one of the most successful alternative rock bands to break out in the ’90s. Formed in Columbia, South Carolina in 1986, the band has consisted of vocalist and guitarist Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld since 1989. The band’s 1994 debut album Cracked Rear View launched the band to superstardom, netting 21 RIAA platinum certifications, two Grammy Awards and three Top 10 singles in “Hold My Hand,” “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be With You.” After taking a hiatus in 2008, the band returned with their sixth album, Imperfect Circle, in 2019.

What to Know for Hootie & The Blowfish’s Summer Camp with Trucks Tour

The 2024 Summer Camp with Trucks Tour marks the first extended live trek for Hootie & The Blowfish since 2019, when the group traveled globally for the Group Therapy Tour. However, the band has stayed sharp with select stage appearances over the years, including two headlining spots at the destination event HootieFest and one-off shows across the U.S. In a statement, Mark Bryan credited opener and longtime tourmate Edwin McCain with giving the tour its name, recalling, “Edwin McCain told someone at the time that touring with us felt like summer camp with trucks… and that’s exactly how we want next year to feel, too.”
