The Astor Place Theatre

Named after John Jacob Astor, a successful entrepreneur, supporter of the arts, and committed New Yorker who strived to make his beloved city great. In the early1830s Astor was the developing force behind Lafayette St. and Colonnade Row, which is now Astor Place Theatre. Fans can see his legacy in the beautiful Greek marble columns that adorn the theater and all around Astor Place.
